Established in Dec. 1988, Shanghai Trade Association of Laundering and Dyeing Profession (SALD) is a cross-sector, trans-ownership and non-profit industry organization as legal person organized voluntarily by laundering and dyeing enterprises and institutions in Shanghai.

  Currently, SALD has 77 members of various ownerships (660 laundering outlets), including large laundering chains and large enterprises producing laundering chemicals and machinery, which stand out among the domestic enterprises of the same trade in terms of brand, scale, and output value.

  In recent years, to strengthen self-discipline, SALD issued the Consumption Dispute Settlement Methods for Shanghai Laundering & Dyeing Industry and Operation Regulations on Standard Laundering & Dyeing Contract Terms for Shanghai Laundering & Dyeing Industry jointly with Shanghai Consumer Council; adopted the uniform “Clothing Receipt” and “Notices to Customers” of Shanghai laundering & dyeing industry; issued Quality Standard for Shanghai Laundering & Dyeing Industry, and set up laundering and dyeing expert assessment team to assess the laundering incidents openly and fairly on a regular basis. Furthermore, SALD provides members with a wide range of services: advisory services on laundering technologies and equipments; organization of technical exchange, visit, study, investigation and other activities; recommendation of technical talents; release of laundering & dyeing industry information; industry statistics; and, coordination on such issues as increase of pipeline steam price and fine on van for clothing collection and delivery with competent departments on behalf of the industry.
